The following is a list of the wireless telegraphy stations at present in operation in the Philippine Islands, with thentic particulars of the system, power, and range of each

installation.

Stations operate by the Philippines Bureau of Posts:-

CUYO STATION on Cuyo Island in the Sulu Sea. System Telefunken. Power 2 kilowatts primary, aerial radiation 3/4 kilowatt. Wave-length 600 meters. Daylight sending range 200 miles, night sending range 400 miles.

DAVAO STATION, near the town of Davao, in the Gulf of

Davao in the south of Mindanao Island. System originally

Telefunken but redesigned by a local operator in 1914.

The station being placed at the base of Mount Apo, over

which the signals must be sent to ZAMBOANGA, it uses a

directional aerial, and can only transmit within an arc

of 40 degrees. The centre of this arc is about 5 degrees

south of west from DAVAO. Wave-length 1600 metres. Day-

light sending range 350 miles, night sending range 1300

miles.

JOLO STATION on Jolo Islands. System old style Deforest.

60 cycle, open gap. Power kilowatte primary. Fave- length 600 metres. Daylight sending range 250 miles west, north and east, 150 miles south. Night sending range 500

miles west, north and east. 300 miles south.

MALABANG STATION on the east coast of Illana Bay in the Island of Mindanao. System originally Massie but redesigned and rearranged by a local engineer. Power 3 kilowatts primary. 120 cycles, open gap. Wave-length 1200 metres. Daylight sending range 300 miles west, 400 miles south, 100 miles east and north. Night sending range 600 miles west, 800 miles south, 250 miles east and north.
